  • SIT CONFERENCE

    The 2019 Student Involved with Technology Conference will be held Saturday, February 9, from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at Blackhawk Middle School. The conference includes speakers, hands-on activities, competitions, lunch, a snack, a T-shirt, and opportunities to attend different tech workshops and win a variety of prizes.

    Online registrations for the 2019 Students Involved with Technology (SIT) Conference will be accepted through Wednesday, January 23.

  • EIGHTH GRADE COURSE SELECTION FOR FENTON

    Fenton staff will be at BMS on Wednesday, January 23rd during the day to meet with students one-on-one to confirm their course selection.  Course selection should be completed by the student by Monday, January 21, through the Power School link.

  • FREE SEALANT PROGRAM MEETS FRESHMAN DENTAL EXAM REQUIREMENT

    A dental exam will be required for students entering the ninth grade in the 2019-2020 school year. The free dental sealant program offered at Blackhawk on Thursday, January 31, will satisfy this requirement. Forms to apply for this program are available below.   • SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY FOR SEVENTH GRADERS

    The Cooke Young Scholars Program is a selective five-year, pre-college scholarship for high-performing seventh-grade students with financial need. It provides comprehensive academic and college advising, as well as financial support for school, Cooke-sponsored summer programs, internships, and other learning enrichment opportunities. The application deadline is Thursday, March 14.

  • GIRLS & BOYS VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS

    Tryouts for Blackhawk's girls and boys volleyball teams will be held Monday and Wednesday, January 28 and 30, at Blackhawk Middle School.

    Monday, January 28

    • Boys: 3-4:30 p.m.
    • Girls: 4:30-6 p.m.

    Wednesday, January 30

    • Girls: 3-4:30 p.m.
    • Boys: 4:30-6 p.m

  • DIGITAL MEDIA AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM 

    A new digital media after-school program offered through the new Blackhawk RISE Academy will teach students the basic concepts of audio production using storytelling and beats.

    The program will be held after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in the Makerspace in the BMS Learning Center.

    Transportation will be provided.

  • STEM LAB NEEDS YOUR RECYCLABLES

    STEM Lab is always in need of materials, and basically anything you would recycle could be re-used in the class.

    In particular, the lab needs ...

    • water bottles
    • cereal, cracker, and snack bar boxes
    • egg cartons
    • paper towel rolls  


    If you have anything please consider donating. Students can bring items to Room 166, and parents can drop them off in the main office.

    Tuesday is early dismissal day. Students are dismissed at 2 p.m. every Tuesday.
