PROGRAMA DE PRIMERA INFANCIA: ¡Creciendo y Aprendiendo Juntos, nuestros estudiantes más pequeños se están divirtiendo mucho este verano!
El programa de Primera Infancia (EC) se enfoca en apoyar las áreas de desarrollo más importantes para los estudiantes más jóvenes de nuestro distrito, que son las áreas física, social, emocional, cognitiva y lingüística. Y todo esto lo logra a través de algo que a los niños les encanta, que es, jugando y divirtiéndose!

EARLY CHILDHOOD OUTREACH: Learning and growing together, our youngest students are having fun over the summer!!
The EC summer program focuses on supporting the fundamental areas of development of the District’s youngest students: physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and linguistic. And it achieves all this by doing what the kids like the most: playing and having fun!

UNA PEQUEÑA PRUEBA DE LA UNIVERSIDAD: Gracias a los fondos CURE recibidos, los estudiantes de la Escuela de Verano Bilingüe, visitaron el Centro Culinario y de Hospitalidad del College of DuPage
Esta fue una gran oportunidad para que los estudiantes experimentaran y visualizarán lo que asistir al colegio significa, desde una temprana edad. Durante la visita, los estudiantes más grandes tuvieron la oportunidad de ayudar a estudiantes del COD en su clase de cocina internacional mientras trabajaban en el menú de la semana inspirado en la cocina de Birmania, mientras que los estudiantes más jóvenes ayudaron a los estudiantes de COD cursando el primer semestre del programa a preparar platillos en base a carne de puerco y cordero.

A TASTE OF COLLEGE: CURE grant field trip introduces bilingual summer school students to College of Dupage Culinary and Hospitality Center
This was a great opportunity for our students to experience and visualize what attending college could be from an early age. During the visit, older students had the opportunity to help COD students in an international cooking class prepare a menu inspired by cuisine from Myanmar, while younger students helped COD students in their first semester in the program prepare pork and lamb dishes.

¡ELLOS SON CARE! Gracias a todos los voluntarios en el Programa CARE por su arduo trabajo y dedicación con los estudiantes del BSD2
El programa de voluntarios del Distrito 2, no es ahora solamente un “proyecto”. Ahora solo lo llamaremos CARE: Cultivating Academic Readiness & Excellence (Cultivando la preparación académica y de excelencia). Están en lo correcto, ahora tenemos una nueva marca, un nuevo nombre y un nuevo logo, pero seguimos contando con tantos rostros familiares que aun nos ayudan como voluntarios para apoyar a los estudiantes del BSD2, así como lo han hecho ya, por muchos años!

District 2’s volunteer program is no longer a “project.” Just call it CARE now: Cultivating Academic Readiness & Excellence. That’s right, a rebrand – a new name and a new logo, but so many familiar faces still volunteering to serve BSD2 students as they have for so many years!

¡DI QUE SÍ! Estudiantes de BMS participaron en el Concurso de Lanzamientos de Jóvenes Emprendedores del Distrito, ¡son serios negociantes!
Con grandes ideas se ganaron grandes cheques, durante este pasado Concurso de Lanzamiento de Jóvenes Emprendedores para los estudiantes del Distrito llamado (YES!) Concurso de Lanzamientos, el cual se llevó a cabo el pasado 12 de Mayo en la Escuela Intermedia Blackhawk.

A principios de este mes, las estudiantes del Equipo de Diseño de Modas de la Escuela Blackhawk tuvieron la oportunidad de experimentar y exponerse a la vida universitaria, al hacer una visita muy especial a la Universidad Dominicana.

FASHION FORWARD: Tour and fashion show at Dominican University allows BMS students to envision going to college and working in the fashion industry
Earlier this month, students on the Fashion Design Team at Blackhawk Middle School gained real-life experience in the industry and exposure to college life on a special trip to Dominican University.
