Welcome to Bensenville School District 2
We are a diverse three-school elementary district serving approximately 2,000 elementary students from Bensenville and portions of Wood Dale and Addison. Our students feed into Fenton High School. In 2022, the Illinois State Board of Education rated each of our schools "Commendable."
Our schools deliver a strong core education program by providing comprehensive instruction in reading, writing math, science, social science, art, music, physical education, social-emotional learning and STEAM skills. We also offer special education, ESL services, pre-kindergarten classes, full-day kindergarten, and a dual language program.
Our parents, students, staff, and community members all play an important role in our mission to ignite within our students a lifelong desire to learn and succeed in an ever-changing world. That's why our motto is "Learning & Growing Together."
Thank you for being our partners in this endeavor! We're grateful for the opportunity to work alongside you!
To that end, we encourage you to contact your school's principal with any questions you may have, and to establish an open relationship with your child's teacher.
We hope you enjoy your educational experience in Bensenville School District 2, and we look forward to getting to know you and your child.

From the Superintendent
As we begin another new school year, I am excited to see what we will accomplish together. I am confident we will continue to make great strides in improving student outcomes and creating positive learning environments for all. Thank you for partnering with us to educate the children of this wonderful community. I know that 2023-2024 will be another fabulous school year!
I hope summer break will provide everyone an opportunity to enjoy some fun in the sun with family and friends. I hope we can all return in August, rested, recharged, and ready for another great year of “Learning & Growing Together.”
FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT: Introducing Right At School, our new elementary after-school program provider
We are excited to announce that the nationally recognized after school student enrichment program provider Right at School is coming to District 2! Beginning with the 2023-2024 school year, Right At School will run the district’s after school programming for Johnson and Tioga schools.
Every year, Teacher Appreciation week falls at the beginning of May – a time when we are all encouraged to #thankateacher. As I approach the end of my first year as a superintendent, though, I’m compelled to thank our over 200 teachers and another 200-plus staff members for their combined contributions toward the education of the more than 2,000 students we serve here in District 2.
While we always hope that lockdowns are the result of false alarms, we diligently prepare for the worst-case scenario.
Before we know it, the end-of-year celebrations will be here, and summer break will be upon us. I hope that everyone enjoys spring break and comes back focused and ready to finish strong!
Your response will also demonstrate your commitment to our new motto, as taking the 5Essentials is a quick, easy way for all of us to learn and grow together.
This holiday season, I would like to reflect on our BSD2 Community’s generous spirit. The selfless giving of our staff and community emphasizes to me how much we care about each other in District 2, and how our presence in each other’s lives is one of the most important presents we can give or receive.
Thanksgiving is here, and it is my hope that this holiday finds you with an abundance of blessings to celebrate.
Lights! Camera! Action! Dr. Katie McCluskey recently visited the Village's TV studio to record her first "Spotlight on Bensenville." If you've not yet had the opportunity to meet her, let Lara Schwarz, District 2's Community Liaison, introduce you to District 2's new Superintendent of Schools.
Learning and growing together is the key to every successful organization and I couldn’t be more proud of our staff and students and our launch of the school year.
Whether you're a parent, student, staff member, or community member, you will play an important role in this work. Together, we will ignite within our students a lifelong desire to learn and succeed in an ever-changing world.
I’m Dr. Katie McCluskey, and I’ve looked forward to this moment since the District 2 Board of Education appointed me in December. I’m thrilled that July 1 is finally here, and I can formally begin my role as your new Superintendent of Schools!
