Summer Enrichment Programs

  • Registration forms -- including dates, times, and other details that are still being finalized -- will be available Monday, April 1, in schools’ front offices, and must be submitted -- along with a $25 non-refundable registration fee--by Friday, April 26. Space in each program is limited, and seats will go fast!

    STEM Camps

    Explore! Build! Create! Students in Grades 2-7 can develop their creative problem-solving skills through a variety of different one-week camps filled with fun, hands-on activities designed to spark students’ interest in science, technology, engineering, and math.

    2019 STEM Camp 1

    • Dates: June 10-14 
    • Hours: 8-10:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.-1p.m. 
    • Costs: $25
    • Grades: 2-4
    • Location: Blackhawk Middle School, 250 S. Church Road, Bensenville 

    2019 STEM Camp 2

    • Dates: June 17-21 
    • Hours: 8-10:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.-1p.m. 
    • Costs: $25
    • Grades: 5-7

    JumpStart (ENROLLMENT FULL FOR 2019!)

    Incoming sixth graders can meet teachers, make new friends, and learn about Blackhawk through this fun and informative program. Jumpstart will help them transition from elementary to middle school by introducing them to the sixth-grade math and English/language arts curriculums, and by exposing them to new routines such as locker combinations, lunchroom procedures, and class schedules.

RISE Academy Summer Camps

  • Image of RISE Academy logo Registration is now open for District 2's new RISE Academy summer camps, which will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays over a three-week period in July. 

    The camps are free to BSD2 students entering Grades 2-8, and will offer a series of daily rotations that feature physical fitness, Latin dance, drama, visual arts, literacy and STEAM activities. 

    Breakfast, lunch, and transportation are provided. 

    Space is limited, and registrations will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.

    RISE Elementary Summer Camp

    • Age: Incoming Grades 2-5
    • Location: W.A. Johnson School, 252 Ridgewood Avenue, Bensenville
    • Dates: Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from July 8 to July 24
    • Time: 8 a.m.-noon
