CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: School year starts with no new COVID cases

No new COVID diagnoses among BSD2 staff and students were reported to the District during the first week of the 2021-2022 school year.

Help us continue this safe start to the school year. Stay home when you are sick, wash your hands, watch your distance, and ALWAYS wear a mask when you are in a BSD2 school.

As the year progresses, the District will continue to update its COVID Dashboard when cases are confirmed and close contacts are identified.

However, weekly reports will now replace messages about individual cases.

NOTE: The District’s COVID Dashboard charts two kinds of metrics.

  1. Confirmed cases who have been reported to the District and are recovering in isolation for up to 14 calendar days.
  2. Close contacts who are required to quarantine for up to 14 calendar days due to their exposure in the District to a confirmed case.

Close contacts that occurred outside of the District are not included.

Similarly, symptomatic students and staff who are sent home from school to quarantine are not included in the Dashboard unless they are eventually reported as confirmed COVID cases.

Symptomatic students and staff who are sent home from school cannot return to school until they meet one of the following requirements:

  1. Quarantine for up to 14 calendar days
  2. Present a negative non-rapid response COVID test
